Obama projected to win Vermont

Barack Obama is the projected winner of Vermont's three electoral votes, according to CNN.

With almost no precincts reporting, the Democrat leads by enough in the exit polls over John McCain for the network to project a winner soon after the polls closed.

Pig Book: Vermont ranks 6th in pork barrel spending

$70,631,915: That’s total value of the 99 pork barrel projects secured from the federal government by Vermont’s Congressional delegation, according to the 2008 Pig Book.

It's a small number compared to the $17.2 billion national total that Citizens Against Government Waste found in FY 2008’s 12 appropriation bills.
