The progressive interest group Fuse has come out with an awards show of sorts on its website, complete with a red curtain and a long list of awards under the banner of what they called the "Sizzle Awards".

In addition to highlighting a handful of prominent Democratic lawmakers, they give Senate Majority Leader Lisa Brown (D-Spokane) "The Boss" award for "being a progressive rock star", and they even showed some kindness to a Republican. Rep. Skip Priest (R-Federal Way) was named "The Collaborator" for his success in working across the aisle with Democrats

Fuse also recognizes P-I reporter Chris McGann for uncovering the State Legislature's plan to give massive tax credits to large local corporations, a move that proved not to pass the sunlight test and was killed after public discontent.

Of course they panned Reps. Jim Dunn (R-Vancouver) and Pam Roach (R-Auburn) for their various foibles, but they also shined the negative spotlight, which they called the "Fizzle Awards", on a couple of Democrats. Reps. Deb Eddy (D-Kirkland) and Sharon Tomiko Santos (D-Seattle) shared the "Mapquest Award" for supporting what Fuse says is legislation not indicative of their progressive districts, hence the need to find out where they live.
