White, Carlyle nab newspaper endorsements

[img_assist|nid=1802|title=Scott White|desc=campaign photo|link=none|align=right|width=200|height=134]The Seattle Times issued its endorsements in the highly contested 36th and 46th Legislative Districts Wednesday afternoon, urging its readers to vote for Democratic candidates Reuven Carlye and Scott White, respectively. White and Carlyle also both received the endorsement of The Stranger's editorial control board on the same day.

The Times' endorsement said White "offers the right constellation of skills, contacts and personal work style to go to Olympia and dig right in."

Both of their main Democratic opponents, Gerry Pollet in the 46th and John Burbank in the 36th, are expected to move beyond the "top two" primary along with the endorsees because of the strong Democratic lean of both districts. Also running are Republicans Leslie Bloss in the 36th and Keith Ljunghammer in the 46th.
