Reichert campaign goes on amid bailout talk

Despite news that Republican presidential nominee Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) has suspended his presidential campaign to return to Washington, D.C. and work toward finding a solution to the nation's financial crisis, Rep. Dave Reichert (R-Auburn) has decided to keep his own campaign going.

Reichert spokesperson Amanda Halligan told PolitickerWA.com that, unlike McCain who has been traveling constantly in recent months, Congressman Reichert has been at work in Washington, D.C. and will remain there in the near future. So they see no reason to suspend the operations on the ground in the 8th Congressional District.

As for how he will vote on the potential Wall Street bailout, Halligan said that Reichert would take a hard look at the final legislation, and said his priority would be "protecting the middle class and everyday, hardworking tax payers."
