When the House votes on the financial bailout bill Thursday, Rep. Doc Hastings (R-Pasco) will be no more likely to change his vote than any other representative.
Buzz around Washington suggested that Hastings was likely to change his "no" vote on the bailout based on an article in Politico.com. The story, which Hastings' office denied the accuracy of, listed the 4th District Congressman as one of the twelve most likely to move from the "no" column to the "yes" column beween Monday and Thursday.
"That reporter never called our office, so it's nothing more than baseless speculation on their part," Hastings press secretary Will Marlow said. "For all anyone knows they plucked 12 names out of a hat."
