Time Magazine wonders if netroots will bring down Burner

An article in time.com yesterday, the website for TIME magazine, pondered the fate of 8th District challenger Darcy Burner (D-Carnation) in a year where most repeat challengers are running away with their congressional rematches.

They hint at Burner's connection to the so-called "netroots", politically active members of blogs and online communities, and suggested that it may be the reason that she has so far failed to break through in her race against Rep. Dave Reichert (R-Auburn) in an increasingly left-leaning district.

"The battle to be Bill Gates' congressman should have been over by now. Although Dave Reichert, the incumbent GOP representative from Washington State's eighth congressional district, is still a largely popular figure, this is a Democratic year," the article says.

It cites Reichert's endorsement by the Seattle P-I and the September SurveyUSA poll that showed the incumbent with a ten point lead, 54-44, over Burner as two of the key indicators that his campaign looks strong, and blames Burner's early connection to efforts aimed at ending the Iraq war illustrated by her popular "Responsible Plan" and what they call a lack of attention to "pocketbook issues", though they fail to give any ink to the extensive economic plan she released this fall.

Reichert has made keeping taxes low and advocating for free trade a major component of his campaign for re-election.

Still, despite this article and the September poll, Burner's campaign has told PolitickerWA.com they are feeling good about their chances due in part to a strong 3rd quarter fundraising effort, aided in part by the internet, and two recent internal polls that show her leading by at least five points.

Sexy Prom Dress
Prom night is the occasion most teenagers look forward to. Prom marks the end of one phase of life and the beginning of another. It is the night of glamour as it is the last formal
occasion celebrated in high school and it is to be remembered and cherished. This is the reason why dressing up is so important.
Planning for the prom starts weeks in advance with a search for the dress, taking into account material, color and of course, the shoes. These days, it is not enough to be just beautiful. The final effect has to be as stunning and even as sexy as possible. The most popular sexy prom dresses are satin, sequined, vintage and the little black Prom Dresses as well as the hanky hem, the short and spicy prom dress and the classic Cinderella ball gown.
For a sexy prom dress, it is very important to determine the exact kind of dress that would suit you. The dress may look great on a model but it is necessary that it looks great on you too. To that end, take accurate hip, waist and bust measurements. Next, determine the kind of body you have-an A or H type, round or hourglass body-before you ship for a dress to die for.The Prom Dress can be sexier when it's the right color. Dark muted colors like deep gray, wine, forest green, burgundy, midnight blue and cocoa flatter a fuller figure while neutral colors like silver, black, gray, beige, gold and taupe give a longer, leaner look. Long straight cuts and vertical patterns also make the wearer look slim and sexy.
A professional would be able to help design the sexiest dress. There are several online outlets that sell beautiful Prom Dresses.
