Two new Yes on I-1000 ads

The Yes on I-1000 interest group, supporters of the physician-assisted suicide ballot initiative, are using their substantial cash advantage on advertising this week. They are now on the air with two new television ads and a radio spot.

Both ads highlight the safety of the measure, and look to reassure voters who might be wary of passing the ballot initiative.

The first television ad, called "Get the Facts" and seen below, disputes an opposition ad as factually incorrect, and uses former Oregon Gov. Barbara Roberts to temper the fears of voters who are worried that some may be taken advantage of if this initiative passes. Oregon passed a similar law earlier this decade.

The second ad, "Doctor-Daughter", shows a doctor whose mother used physician assisted suicide in Oregon, and utilizes her platform as a physician to vouch for the appropriateness of the initiative.

The radio ad opens with a line saying, "There are decisions and private matters in our lives where govt and politicians have no place," and seeks to tie the initiative with freedom of religion and reproductive rights.
