Gregoire leads Rossi by 2 in latest poll, by larger margins among those who have already voted
By Bryan Bissell, PolitickerWA.com ReporterGov. Chris Gregoire continues to lead Dino Rossi by a small margin, 50-48, in the latest SurveyUSA poll released Tuesday afternoon.
This is the same margin in the governor’s race as the previous SurveyUSA poll. Most notable, though, is the fact that Gregoire led among people who have already voted by a count of 53-46. Half of the people the pollster called said they had already mailed in their ballots.
The poll, taken from 630 likely voters with a margin of error of +/- 4 percent, also showed Democratic presidential nominee Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.) leading his Republican counterpart Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) by 17 points, 56-39.
