Esser blanketing the state to help GOP with final push

Chris Gregoire and Dino Rossi aren’t the only ones criss-crossing the state in search of votes in the final days of the election. Washington State Republican Party Chairman Luke Esser is embarking on his own “Fight to the Finish” tour these days, hoping to drum up support and bolster GOTV efforts for local and statewide Republican candidates.

Esser began his tour on Friday with stops in Lakewood, Puyallup and Bellevue before heading up to Everett and over to Spokane on Saturday. He hit Southwest Washington on Sunday with stops in Longview, Olympia and Vancouver, and is in the Tri-Cities and Yakima today.

He told PolitickerWA.com that the tour was to keep the pressure on Republicans to make sure that every voter sends in their ballot. Republicans are hoping for net pickups in the state legislature this year after a series of losses that have brought about major Democratic majorities in Olympia, and to win the governor’s mansion with Dino Rossi after losing in 2004 by 133 votes after three recounts.
