Burner responds to NRCC ad

Darcy Burner's campaign released a new ad in response to this spot from the National Republican Congressional Campaign on behalf of Rep. Dave Reichert (R-Auburn) that accused her of being a tax raiser. The ad replaced some previous spots they had running in air time they had already purchased.

Burner's ad repeats her plan to give the middle class a $4,000 tax cut and to remove tax breaks for companies that outsource jobs.

NRCC frames Burner as tax-and-spend liberal

The National Republican Congressional Committee began running an ad today claiming that, while 8th District congressional candidate Darcy Burner says she will bring change to Congress, it is the wrong kind of change.

Specifically, they use the ad to paint her as a "tax and spend" politician, and say she wants higher taxes and bigger government.

NRCC tries to tie Rangel scandal to Washington, Dems cry hypocrisy

The National Republican Congressional Committee is going local, even here in Washington, with the scandal plaguing Congressman Charlie Rangel (D-NY). In light of the revelation that Rangel has admitted to owing thousands in back taxes, the NRCC is attempting to tie local Congressmen and candidates to Rangel, and has called on three of them -Darcy Burner (D-Carnation), Rep. Brian Baird (D-Vancouver) and Rep. Rick Larsen (D-Arlington)-to return all contributions from Rangel's PAC.

King Co. GOP Chair Sotelo likes Reichert's chances

MINNEAPOLIS - Rep. Dave Reichert (R-Auburn) has consistently shown up on lists of vulnerable Republican House incumbents in 2008, just two years removed from a close race in 2006 in a district that voted for John Kerry. Among those is the Pindell Report, which showed Reichert's rematch with Democrat Darcy Burner as the country's most competitive.
