Politics blog: Group seeks to freeze county borrowing for land buys

A group of conservative Dane County Board members is calling for a moratorium on borrowing for land purchases in 2010. The proposal would rescind a 2007 resolution that called for borrowing $25 million for parkland and open space over five years.

State panel approves $47.1 million purchase of trains without bids

The Legislature's budget committee signed off Tuesday on a plan to spend $47.1 million for two train sets without a competitive bid.
